| [ JESUS THE HEALER ]
|
| Jesus is a wounded healer. The red mark at the left hand expresses the
wounded hand of JESUS. He heals while being wounded himself. This is the
symbol for pastoral care, i.e., spiritual healing. The healer and the healed
are both wounded and thus share the same human predicament. |
| Together with the vertical board behind, the hands held together form a cross. The cross being the symbol both of suffering and its merits, i.e., life evolves from there. Pastoral care engages in healing by giving hope. Suffering is the path to real life. |
